When you first open the Mendi app, you’ll be guided through a short onboarding process to tailor your experience.

  • Select the area you want to focus on (e.g., improving focus, managing stress, easing anxiety, lifting mood, or overall well-being).
  • Based on your selection, Mendi will track your progress in this area and provide insights over time.

You can update your focus area later in Settings if your priorities change.

1. Completing Your Initial Check-In

To better understand your current state, you’ll be asked to complete a short, scientifically validated questionnaire.

  • Each questionnaire takes around 2 minutes to complete.
  • Your answers help Mendi provide a baseline measurement so you can track progress over time.
  • These assessments are not medical diagnostics but tools to help you reflect on your mental well-being.

Depending on your selected focus area, you'll take one of the following:

  • Focus: Attention Control Scale (ACS)
  • Stress: Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10)
  • Anxiety: Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item (GAD-7)
  • Mood: Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9)
  • Well-being: WHO-5 Well-Being Index

2. Tracking Your Progress

Once you complete the questionnaire, you’ll receive a personalized result based on your responses.

  • Your result provides an overview of where you currently stand in your chosen focus area.
  • Over time, Mendi will check in with you every 1, 2, or 3 months (based on your preference) to retake the assessment and track changes.
  • As you progress, you’ll be able to compare results and see how your brain training and lifestyle changes are impacting your well-being.

3. Setting Up Notifications

To stay on track with your training and check-ins, Mendi offers two types of reminders:

  • Neurofeedback session reminders – Daily prompts to help you maintain a consistent brain training habit.
  • Progress check-ins – Periodic reminders (monthly, every two months, or every three months) to retake your assessment and see how your results evolve.

You can adjust or disable these reminders at any time in Settings.

4. Starting Your First Training Session

Once setup is complete, you’ll land on the Training tab.

  • Tap Start to begin your first neurofeedback session.
  • Mendi will guide you through the process, helping you build a habit of consistent training.

From here, you can explore more features, track your progress, and optimize your brain training experience.
