We’ve introduced a new way to personalize your Mendi experience, designed to help you set clear goals, reflect on your mental well-being, and track your progress over time.

1. How You’ll Access the Feature

When you launch the app, you’ll see a prompt inviting you to get started:

  • A full-screen announcement introducing the new focus experience
  • Or an inline message on the Explore tab

Tapping “Get started” will guide you through choosing your focus area, completing a short questionnaire, and setting up reminders to support your journey.

2. Choosing Your Focus Area

You’ll now be asked to select a focus area that best reflects what you want to work on right now:

  • Improve focus
  • Manage stress levels
  • Ease my anxiety
  • Lift my mood
  • Feel my best

Your selection helps Mendi tailor insights and check-ins that support your specific goals. You can change your focus area anytime in Settings.

3. Completing Your Initial Check-In

To better understand your current state, you’ll be asked to complete a short, scientifically validated questionnaire based on your selected goal.

  • Each questionnaire takes around 2 minutes to complete.
  • Your answers help Mendi provide a baseline measurement so you can track progress over time.
  • These assessments are not medical diagnostics but tools to help you reflect on your mental well-being.

Depending on your chosen focus area, you’ll take one of the following:

  • Focus: Attention Control Scale (ACS) – Assesses your ability to maintain and shift attention.
  • Stress: Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) – Measures how you perceive and manage stress in daily life.
  • Anxiety: Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item (GAD-7) – Helps evaluate common symptoms of anxiety.
  • Mood: Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) – Screens for symptoms of low mood and emotional distress.
  • Well-being: WHO-5 Well-Being Index – Tracks overall mental well-being and quality of life.

Once you complete the questionnaire, you’ll receive a personalized result based on your responses. This gives you a clear starting point to revisit over time as you continue training with Mendi.

4. Tracking Your Progress

  • You’ll be able to retake the same questionnaire every 1, 2, or 3 months, depending on your preference.
  • These check-ins help you see measurable changes over time and understand how your brain training and lifestyle are supporting your mental well-being.

5. Enabling Notifications

To stay consistent and on track, you’ll be prompted to enable two types of reminders:

  • Neurofeedback session reminders – Daily prompts to support habit-building
  • Progress check-in reminders – Based on the frequency you choose (monthly, every two months, or every three months)

You can update or disable these notifications anytime in Settings.
