My Score Isn’t as High as My Friends’ — What Am I Doing Wrong?

Don’t worry; you’re doing nothing wrong!

Mendi is designed to calibrate uniquely to you, so your scores are personal and can’t be directly compared to anyone else’s. What matters most is your own progress over time, not how your numbers stack up against someone else’s.

Why Scores Differ

Each Mendi user starts with a personal baseline; your app learns how your brain responds to focus and relaxation. That baseline changes as you train and can also vary day to day based on many factors, including:

  • Time of day

  • Sleep or stress levels

  • Caffeine intake

  • Physical activity

  • Lighting or headset fit

After about a month of consistent use, your average baseline becomes more stable. From there, your scores give a clearer view of your improvement over time.

If Your Scores Feel Stuck

  • Try focusing on different sensations or thoughts; for example: your breathing, posture, or a calm image.

  • Adjust your training environment; use dim light and stay still during sessions.

  • Experiment with different moods or intentions; curiosity, calm, or positive visualization.

  • Focus less on chasing numbers and more on how focused or relaxed you feel after each session.

Mendi training is about learning how your focus feels, not just raising the score.

The Bottom Line

Your brain activity is as unique as your fingerprint.
What’s important is consistency and curiosity; each session helps your brain regulate more efficiently, regardless of the exact number on the screen.

Over time, you’ll notice smoother focus, steadier control, and better results — in both the app and daily life.
